Sybille Kausch is a primary school teacher who teaches German as a Foreign Language, Physical Education, Art, Ethics and Music. She studied Primary School Education at the Europa-Universität Flensburg and brings seven years of teaching experience to the German School Jakarta. She became a teacher because she enjoys that no two days are the same and loves discovering new things together with children. What she finds most rewarding is seeing uncertainty turn into genuine understanding.
At DSJ, she especially appreciates the warm, close-knit atmosphere and the openness and curiosity of the children. Her educational motto is: “Mistakes are not obstacles, but the rungs on the ladder to understanding.”
In her free time, Sybille enjoys travelling, reading and sports. Her favourite quote, by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, encourages people to awaken a longing for the wide sea rather than simply focus on building a ship. Her secret talent is learning students’ names at record speed.
