Sabine von Woedtke is a subject and form teacher, teaching Chemistry and Mathematics. She studied for her upper-secondary teaching degree at the University of Potsdam and brings 14 years of teaching experience to the German School Jakarta.

She became a teacher because she wanted to share her love of her subjects and enjoys the many meaningful connections that come with working in education. The most rewarding part of her profession is watching students grow and develop, like little caterpillars becoming butterflies. At DSJ, she particularly appreciates the warm and close-knit environment. Her educational motto is: “There is a divine spark within everyone.”



In her free time, Sabine enjoys cooking, reading, crafting, painting, assembling furniture and travelling with her husband and child. She also likes using AI to make everyday life a little easier and enjoys a good Greek frappé. Her favourite quote is the Greek expression “Panta rhei”, meaning “Everything flows.” She also has a fondness for classical languages and can still read Plato in the original Greek.
