Nicolas Gelinek is a teacher of German, English and Physical Education. He studied at the University of Leipzig and is now beginning his third international teaching assignment in Jakarta. Having completed his Abitur at a German School Abroad himself, working at one has been a long-standing personal goal.

He became a teacher because he wanted to turn his passion for sport into a profession and share his enthusiasm for sport and English with young people. What he enjoys most about teaching is that no two days are the same. At DSJ, he especially appreciates the international atmosphere and the close-knit school community.



In his free time, Nicolas enjoys football, tennis and swimming. His guiding quote is Yoda’s: “Do, or do not. There is no try.” And his hidden talent? Karaoke.
