Camilla Glambaek is a primary school teacher and class teacher of 3d, teaching German, English, Mathematics, Art and Social Studies. She studied for a Bachelor of Education at University College Copenhagen in Denmark and brings five years of teaching experience to her new role at the German School Jakarta.
Camilla became a teacher because she still remembers the teachers who made her own school years feel safe and positive, and she hopes to create that same experience for her students. She enjoys the human connection that comes with teaching, both with children and colleagues. At DSJ, she particularly appreciates the many cultural influences and the opportunity to learn from people with different backgrounds and perspectives. Her educational motto is: “Those who can laugh, learn more easily.”
In her free time, Camilla enjoys creative activities such as crafting, painting and knitting, as well as cooking and baking. She also likes cycling, reading and travelling with her family. Her favourite quote is “To travel is to live” by Hans Christian Andersen. Her secret talent is spending a surprisingly long time exploring a new supermarket. She also believes that the best adventures sometimes begin when plans come to an end.
