Since 2024, Frau Julia Gretzki has been part of the teaching team at the German School Jakarta (DSJ), bringing her enthusiasm and versatility to the classroom. As a teacher for German as a Foreign Language (DaF), Physical Education, Music, and Art, she combines creativity, movement, and joy in learning in everything she does.

Frau Gretzki studied at the University of Rostock and has been teaching since 2020. She chose this profession out of a deep desire to contribute to the growth of children and to share her passion for education. What she loves most about teaching is that no two days are the same – each one brings new experiences and opportunities to learn, both for her students and herself.

At DSJ, Frau Gretzki particularly values the multicultural environment and the opportunity to work with children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. She believes that this diversity enriches not only the students’ learning but also her own teaching practice.

Her educational motto, “Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that grow for a lifetime,” reflects her belief in the lasting power of education. In her free time, she enjoys strength training, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite quote, “What if I fall? – Oh, my darling, what if you fly?” inspires her to take chances and embrace new adventures. And one of her hidden talents: she can sleep anywhere – in the car, on a bus, or even on a plane.

With her positive energy, creativity, and commitment, Frau Gretzki helps shape the learning culture at DSJ and is a valued member of the school community.
