Felica Hensle is the Head of Kindergarten at the German School Jakarta, where she supports early childhood education and pedagogical development in the kindergarten and preschool. She is a state-certified early childhood educator and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Child Development and Health from the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg. She has worked as an educator since 2019 and as a kindergarten director since 2023.

Felica chose this profession because she has always been fascinated by the curiosity, imagination and creativity with which children discover the world. She especially values the small moments when children become more independent, try something new or proudly share a discovery. What makes DSJ special to her is the way different languages, cultures and experiences come together naturally, creating a place where diversity is experienced every day.

Her educational approach is inspired by the idea that play is the highest form of research, giving children space to ask questions, experiment and learn through discovery.

Outside work, Felica enjoys travelling, discovering new countries and cultures, spending time with family and friends, and finding new favourite places. She believes that a good kindergarten is built on trust, openness and mutual respect, where children and families feel welcome, safe and seen.
