Since October 2022, Frau Nina Heffner has been an integral part of the German School Jakarta (DSJ) team as the KITA Director. She brings extensive experience in child and youth care as well as expertise in early childhood education to her daily work.
Frau Heffner trained at the Fachschule für Sozialpädagogik in Stuttgart and is qualified as a youth and residential educator as well as a systemic family counselor. She is also certified in teaching German as a Foreign Language (DaF/DaZ). With over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents, including international development work, she has built a wide range of valuable skills. Before joining DSJ, she worked in various educational settings both in Germany and abroad.
Frau Heffner became an educator because she loves the diversity and creativity that come with working with children. She appreciates the variety of her work and the opportunity to help children develop and discover their full potential.
At DSJ, Frau Heffner particularly values the spacious campus and the family-like environment. This combination of space and closeness provides ideal conditions for children to learn and grow.
Her educational motto is “Laughter is the most beautiful language in the world,” highlighting the importance of joy and positive emotions in her work. In her free time, she enjoys being active, skiing, diving, and traveling. Her favorite quote, “The world is a book. Those who never travel see only one page,” reflects her passion for new experiences and perspectives. With her dedication and warm personality, Frau Heffner ensures that children at DSJ grow up in a positive, creative, and diverse environment.
