Deutsche Schule Jakarta has been bustling with Christmas cheer, embracing the spirit of the 2023 season with a series of unique events.

The festivities commenced on November 24th with our Advent Project day, featuring delightful Christmas crafting and baking activities for our Grundschule and primary students, setting the stage for this years festive season.

The following day, our school proudly participated in the "Brücke Christmas Bazar" at the Borobudur Hotel in central Jakarta. Amidst the vibrant crowd of the wider German community, our Grundschule and Primary students charmed the audience with a spirited performance of a funny Weihnachtsmann song.

On December 6th, a special guest arrived on Nikolaus Day—Nikolaus himself! He bestowed gifts and wisdom upon our KITA, Grundschule, and Primary children. Following this delightful visit, the Grundschule kids enjoyed a fun ice-skating session at Taman Anggrek mall.

The highlight of our Christmas celebrations was the much-anticipated Weihnachtsfest on December 9th. The event was a musical extravaganza featuring outstanding performances by the school orchestra, choir, and band, infusing the auditorium with festive melodies.

During this memorable occasion, our board member Nanni Jürgens and Principal Peter Hoffmann presented a symbolic cheque to SOS Children's Villages in Indonesia, contributing school uniforms and essentials to support the SOS village in Palu, Sulawesi.

The day unfolded with a small Christmas bazar and flea market, and various crafting activities, keeping everyone engaged and merry. As the evening approached, the main show commenced on stage, treating the audience to heartfelt performances by our Grundschule, KITA, and Primary children. The orchestra, choir, and school band added to the enchanting atmosphere with their musical renditions.

The DSJ Christmas season was a resounding success, fulfilling expectations and spreading joy to all. We extend our sincere gratitude to our dedicated teachers, staff, parents, and partners who played an integral role in making this Christmas celebration a memorable one.

On behalf of everyone at DSJ, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024! 🎅🏻 🎄 🥳
