Since August 2024, Bianka Akyurt has been an integral part of the team at the Deutsche Schule Jakarta (DSJ). She teaches German as a Foreign Language (DaF), History, and Physical Education. Having worked as a teacher in Hamburg since 2010, she brings with her a wealth of experience and professional expertise, which she now contributes with great dedication to her teaching at DSJ.
Bianka Akyurt studied at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Hamburg. For more than a decade, she has taught with great passion, always focusing on the individual learning paths and well-being of her students. Her motivation to become a teacher stems from her conviction that every child learns in their own unique way. She sees her role as guiding students along that path and helping them discover and develop their full potential.
At DSJ, she particularly appreciates the collaborative and respectful atmosphere within the team, as well as the engaged and curious students who make lessons lively and inspiring.
Her educational philosophy follows Maria Montessori’s principle: “Help me to do it myself.” For her, independence and self-discovery are the foundation of meaningful learning.
In her free time, Bianka Akyurt enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring the world—whether through new destinations or culinary adventures. Her hidden talent, as she says, will remain a secret. She believes that joy and appreciation form the basis of positive relationships and successful learning. Her message to her students is simple yet powerful: “Find joy in every new day.”
