Since 2009, Carnisah, called Ms. Elis has been working as a Preschool Teacher at the German School Jakarta (DSJ), teaching Bahasa Indonesia and Numeracy. Before joining DSJ, she gained valuable experience teaching at SIS from 2002 to 2009. She studied at Universitas Islam Jakarta.

She chose the teaching profession simply because she loves it — and because it brings her joy to watch children develop their potential over time. The best part of her job is seeing young learners grow, learn, and become more independent every day.

What she appreciates most about DSJ is the welcoming environment that supports students, parents, and staff alike. Her teaching motto is: “Keep developing yourself”, reflecting her belief that learning and growth never stop. In her free time, Ms. Elis enjoys listening to music — a relaxing balance to the busy life in Preschool. Her favorite quote, “It doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop,” inspires her to keep moving forward, step by step.

With her warm and caring nature, Ms. Elis creates a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, curious, and excited to learn every day.
