Since 1996, Helly Born has been an indispensable member of the German School Jakarta (DSJ) team. With her many years of experience, empathy, and passion for working with children, she has become a cornerstone of the school’s early education program.

Frau Born completed her training at LPK Tarakanita and has been working as an early childhood educator ever since. For almost three decades, she has been guiding and supporting children at DSJ – with patience, warmth, and a deep understanding of their individual needs and strengths.

Her decision to become an educator stems from her love of helping children not only learn but also develop confidence, curiosity, and essential life skills. What she enjoys most about her work is witnessing the growth of her students as they discover the world and become confident, independent young individuals.

At DSJ, Frau Born especially values the multicultural environment. The diversity of languages, cultures, and perspectives enriches both the children’s learning experiences and the collaboration among colleagues. Her educational motto is: “Every child is unique. Our task is to discover and accompany their path.” This philosophy guides her daily work and shapes her caring and individualized approach with the children.

In her free time, she loves traveling and spending time with friends. Her favorite quote, “I am responsible for my own happiness,”reflects her positive outlook on life. Her hidden talent: she can organize anything with ease and always stays calm, even in the most stressful situations. With her warmth, dedication, and long-standing experience, Frau Born helps shape the caring and diverse community at DSJ and continues to leave a lasting impact on the children and colleagues alike.
