Herr Kostjutschenko is a secondary school teacher at the German School Jakarta, where he teaches Music, Ethics, and Science. He studied at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig as well as Leipzig University. Having started his teaching career in 2023, he has been part of the DSJ teaching team since 2025.
He became a teacher because he wants to support children and young people in their personal development. The most rewarding moments in his profession are when students achieve something they couldn’t do before. His educational motto is: “Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember. Let me do it and I understand.” – Confucius. What he finds special about DSJ is the friendly and close collaboration among colleagues and the opportunity for meaningful cultural exchange.
In his free time, Herr Kostjutschenko enjoys playing the guitar, composing music, swimming, and reading. His favourite quote by Laozi says: “Happiness is like the sound of a bell: experience it directly and allow it to fade gently. Do not try to hold on to it, neither in your mind nor with your hands. What can be held is not happiness.” His secret talent is improvising in all kinds of life situations.
