Pascale Mandel has been a teacher since 1999 and has been an invaluable member of our team since 2018. Until January 2025, she served as Head of the Primary School at the German School Jakarta (DSJ), where she significantly shaped the educational direction and daily learning culture. Since February 1, 2025, she has been working as the Deputy Principal, contributing her extensive experience and dedication to the continued development and organization of the entire school.
With her passion for teaching and learning, Frau Mandel truly lives her educational motto “Learning with head, heart, and hand.” Her greatest joy is witnessing the children’s progress and seeing them grow into confident and curious young individuals.
For Frau Mandel, DSJ is more than just a school – she describes it as a big family, where everyone meets on equal footing. This sense of belonging and the close-knit community are what make DSJ such a special place for her.
In her free time, Frau Mandel enjoys music and diving. A true organizational talent, she always manages to stay calm and solution-oriented, even in complex situations. Her favorite quote, “Help me to do it myself,” reflects her belief in encouraging children’s independence and supporting them in discovering their own abilities.
Her message to the school community is:
“School is more than just learning from books. It’s the place where friendships are made, ideas are shared, and talents are discovered. It’s where memories are created that last a lifetime.”
With her experience, commitment, and warm personality, Frau Mandel continues to play a key role in making DSJ a place where children can learn, grow, and thrive with joy.
