Serlina Herlina has been part of the Deutsche Schule Jakarta since 2023, working as a Homeroom Teacher in the primary school and teaching English, Science, and Computer Studies. She holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from the University of Indraprasta and brings more than 20 years of teaching experience to the classroom. Prior to joining DSJ, she served as a Homeroom Teacher and Level Coordinator at Saint John’s Catholic School, supporting student learning and fostering strong communication between teachers, parents, and students.

She became a teacher because she is passionate about inspiring and guiding young learners to discover their strengths. The best part of her job is seeing her students grow in confidence and curiosity every single day. At DSJ, she especially values the warm community and supportive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages growth. Her pedagogical motto is:
“Learning is a journey, not a destination.”

In her free time, Ms. Serlina enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new teaching ideas. She also loves baking cookies and creating art crafts — talents she enjoys incorporating into her classroom activities. Her personal message:
