Since August 2024, Chiara Giardi has been enriching the team at the German School Jakarta as an Art Teacher. She completed her studies at the University College Freiburg of the Albert-Ludwigs-University and at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), bringing with her a strong academic background in art and culture.

Frau Giardi became a teacher because she deeply believes in the “Right to Research” – the right to explore questions, engage with ideas, and continuously pursue knowledge. What she enjoys most about her profession are the constant discoveries and surprises that come with the creative process. Her educational motto, “Ongoing Research Facilitation,”reflects her philosophy of guiding and supporting her students through a continuous journey of exploration and creative growth.

At DSJ, Frau Giardi especially values the wide range of opportunities and the creative potential offered to students, allowing them to express and develop their own artistic ideas. She brings her passion for art, culture, and creativity to the classroom with great enthusiasm and dedication.

Beyond teaching, Frau Giardi’s diverse interests mirror her dynamic and creative personality. She enjoys curatorial practice, contemporary art and culture, cooking, aerial acrobatics, and swing dancing. Her favorite quote, “I prefer many things I haven’t mentioned here to many things I’ve also left unsaid,” by Wislawa Szymborska, beautifully captures her openness and curiosity. As for her secret talent – she prefers to keep it truly secret. With her inspiring spirit and commitment, Frau Giardi creates an atmosphere that encourages her students to explore, experiment, and express themselves freely.
