On Friday, January 24th, our school buzzed with excitement as we celebrated Chinese New Year in style.

A group of children are playing with a red lion costume.

The fun began with a delightful surprise from our KITA kids, who paraded through two classrooms with their handmade Barongsai lions. Their adorable and energetic Lion Dance—complete with firecrackers—brought huge smiles to students and teachers alike.

Preschool joined the festivities, with younger students visiting their senior peers for a heartwarming moment of connection. A standout highlight was the Yusheng Toss, where colorful ingredients representing blessings like prosperity and happiness were carefully mixed and stirred by little hands, accompanied by joyous shouts of Gong Xi Fa Cai and Tian Tian Mi Mi.

At 11:15 AM, the spotlight shifted to the foyer and hall for the main event—the Barongsai Show. Three vibrant lions dazzled everyone with their synchronized moves, spreading luck and cheer throughout the crowd. Dressed in traditional outfits, with a sea of red adding to the festive atmosphere, our community truly embraced the spirit of the celebration.

To wrap up the day, students handed red envelopes, or angpao, to the lions—sharing wishes for a year filled with fortune and happiness. Here’s to an incredible Year of the Snake!
