Speed, Spirit, and Splashing Fun: DSJ Schwimmfest 2026 Makes Waves
Published:
On Friday, 5 June 2026, our annual Schwimmfest once again brought excitement, competition, and plenty of fun to the DSJ pool.

This year’s Schwimmfest kicked off with a relay race for Grades 8–11 – and what a surprise it was! Against the odds, the youngest competitors, Grade 8, raced their way to victory. Congratulations on a fantastic performance!
After this exciting start, students from Grades 1–7 gathered around the pool for a lively warm-up. Then came an unexpected guest: Neptune himself. Herr Schmidt appeared in full sea-god attire, complete with white wig, crown, trident, and a colorful unicorn float for his grand entrance. Unfortunately, the voyage ended almost before it began, as the unicorn promptly threw him backwards into the pool. Thankfully, the ruler of the seas recovered quickly and soon resumed his duties – this time armed with a water pistol and determined to drench as many unsuspecting students as possible.
The competitions that followed featured breaststroke, freestyle, and diving events, with students showing impressive performances, determination, and plenty of sporting spirit. Fast times, close finishes, and enthusiastic cheering around the pool made for a fantastic atmosphere throughout the morning.
The day concluded with the award ceremony in the Aula, where medals and certificates were presented to the successful swimmers.
Congratulations to all participants for making this year’s Schwimmfest another memorable event. A special thank-you goes to our teachers, the EVV for keeping our swimmers refreshed with healthy drinks and fruit, and all parents, friends, and supporters whose encouragement helped create such a fantastic atmosphere around the pool.
