🥇 Café Wunderbar has won the vote and will be the official name of our new school Café! With its simple charm and upbeat spirit, Café Wunderbar captured the heart of our community — and the most votes.

💛  It's also a great example of a German word that's gone international: Wunderbar — meaning wonderful — is cheerful, positive, and even familiar to many English speakers. What better name for a place where our community comes together to relax, recharge, and enjoy something delicious?

☕ 👏🏻 What a turnout!

A total of 27 members of our community submitted name ideas, and 73 people voted — each with up to three votes. That’s incredible participation and creativity from students, parents, staff, and friends of DSJ. Thank you all for making this such a fun and meaningful school-wide experience!

🎁 Since Café Wunderbar and Café Pause were among the names suggested by the organizing team, the grand prize — free coffee or treats every school day until the end of the semester — was randomly drawn from the 27 people who submitted name suggestions. A big thank-you to our fantastic Klasse 1d for helping us with the lucky draw, and congratulations to Lina, our lucky winner!

🗳️ Second place went to Kaffee Bitte, submitted by Rhais Prasetyo, and Café Ecke, submitted by Qingling. Third place was claimed by Moin, submitted by disafredya27.

These three finalists each receive a stamp card for 5 free drinks or treats, valid until the end of the school year — a flexible reward, perfect for those who aren’t on campus every day.

👕 And there’s more! Three voters who selected Café Wunderbar in the poll were also entered into a lucky draw — and each win our brand-new DSJ long-sleeve shirt: Yunabor, Prasetyo, and Felicity. Please check your email and let us know when you will come by the shop to pick up your shirt.

🏁 That wraps up our naming competition — the only thing left is to install the new name at the café. Once again, thank you to everyone who took part and helped us find a truly wunderbar name!
