Last Friday, the halls of DSJ were eerily transformed into a haunted haven for students, teachers and (some) parents alike as the annual Halloween extravaganza sent shivers down spines and giggles through the air.

Jakarta, November 3, 2023 - The sinister soirée kicked off at 4:00 PM, leaving students with just enough time to recover from their school day before the bewitching hour began. The event extended into the dark of night, with a spooktacular sleepover that lasted until the crack of dawn.

To raise the spirits and encourage students to create a truly haunting atmosphere for trick-or-treating, a classroom decorating competition added an extra layer of excitement. Spiders, skeletons, and other eerie embellishments adorned the classrooms. Students, armed with ghostly glee and haunted enthusiasm, spent hours decorating their designated classrooms. The results were spine-tinglingly impressive.

The event was open to students from grades 1 to 12, but primary students were expected to make their exit around 7:00 PM, just in time for dinner. However, they were more than welcome to enjoy their meal at school. What's Halloween without a bit of delicious dread, after all?

Most others seized the opportunity to participate in hair-raising Halloween activities, and join the spine-chilling school sleepover party. Even some brave teachers embraced the spirit of the night by dressing up.

In addition to all the ghoulish fun, a spooktacular photo booth allowed students to capture and preserve lasting memories of this spine-chilling spectacle. Smiles, screams, and selfies abounded as the night wore on.

As the ghosts of Halloween past fade away, DSJ students and staff eagerly await the next spine-tingling adventure. Until then, the spirit of Halloween will linger in the halls, where it waits to be revived once more.

Stay spooky, DSJ!
